Artist Statement
The Art the Vote Missouri Billboard Project provides a wonderful way to convey to the public the urgency of participating in this year's presidential election. My image brings home the human costs of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflict as well as the outflow of our resources to fuel it.
Selected Collections/Awards
In 2007, Rosler participated in the documenta 12 and Sculpture Projects at the Münster exhibitions in Germany; her work in photography and video is in the collections of numerous national and international museums and collections, including the Whitney Museum, the Guggenheim, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Tate Modern, and the V & A, and she has had numerous solo exhibitions.
Rosler has published fifteen books of art and essays, in several languages, and numerous essays in books and magazines. In 2005, Rosler received the Spectrum International Prize in Photography, and a partial retrospective was held at the Sprengel Museum, Hanover, in conjunction with this award. In 2006, Rosler received the Oskar-Kokoschka Prize, Austria's highest fine arts award. In 2007, she received an Anonymous Was a Woman award and in 2008 she received an award from the Center for Book Arts in New York City.
